Mikey Ebner, Maranatha: The senior gave Minuteman coach Matt Shupper a terrific effort in Maranatha’s 9-0 over Cerritos Valley Christian to clinch the program’s 5th consecutive Olympic League title. Ebner, who has signed with the University of Southern California (USC), tossed five shutout innings, surrendering two hits and struck out five.
Ian Hoffstetter, Arcadia: The junior continues to sparkle on the mound for coach Nick Lemas as he was a thorn in the back for Burbank last week. Tuesday, he tossed a three-hitter and struck out five in the 10-0 win. He came back on Friday and secured the sweep for the Apaches threw one scoreless inning and secured the save. Hoffstetter has an 8-1 record with an ERA of 0.86.
Tyler Holley, Bonita: Holley was the toast of the town in the city of La Verne on Thursday as his single in the bottom of the ninth inning scored Jared Brunk with the winning run as the Bearcats defeated their archrivals, Glendora, to sweep the season the series. The win maintains the first-place hold Bonita has in the Palomares League standings. Holley enters the week with a .273 batting average with a home run and 12 RBIs.
Spencer Seid, Flintridge Prep: For the second week in a row, Seid tossed a five-inning no-hitter in the Wolves’ 10-0 win over Rio Hondo Prep. Seid struck out seven and walked three. Seid, who has signed with UC San Diego, has a 5-0 record for the 2022 season with a 0.58 ERA.
Sebastian Zamorano, Sonora: The senior hurler came up huge for the Raiders in their 9-2 win over La Habra. Zamorano went 5 innings, allowed one run on five hits, and struck out six. His record for the year is 2-2 with a 1.94 ERA.
