Noah Aguilar-Tanphanich, St. Francis vs. Cathedral
The ace of the St. Francis pitching staff put on an excellent demonstration as he allowed one hit in five scoreless innings and fanned seven hitters in a key nonleague win.
Isaac Aguirre, La Habra vs. Yorba Linda
Aguirre was a tough customer for Yorba Linda to handle. He pitched a complete-game four-hitter and struck out eight.
Tomas Bilvado, San Marino vs. Monrovia
The senior once again demonstrated why he is the best pitcher in the Rio Hondo League. In a home league win, he gave up four hits and one unearned run and struck out eight. He has an ERA of 0.64 against Monrovia in his two starts against them.
Brody Buoncristiani, Chino Hills vs. Damien
The Huskies needed a performance like this from Buoncristiani to keep their chances of making the playoffs as an At-Large team alive. He allowed one hit and struck out seven in 5.1 innings to propel the Huskies to a key win that won the series.
Gus Cooper, Arcadia vs. Burroughs
With every game in the Pacific League coming more critical in the stretch run, Cooper was lights out as he tossed a five-inning perfect game and struck out four. His record is 6-0 with a 0.36 ERA.
Noah Dabela, La Mirada vs. Bellflower
The junior delivered a top effort as he allowed one run on five hits and struck out six in La Mirada’s 2-1 win.
AJ Flores, Northview vs. Charter Oak
The physically imposing senior was sharp in a crucial Valle Vista League performance, allowing one earned run on seven hits and striking out six in 5.2 innings of work.
Maddox Moreno, La Habra vs. Yorba Linda
Moreno has quietly established himself as one of the top hurlers in the area, and this is another piece of evidence for that line of thinking. Moreno held the Mustangs to one run, six hits, and seven strikeouts to improve his record to 5-1, 0.92 ERA.
Danien Nageer, Bonita vs. Glendora
Nageer continues to make a strong case for being a first-team all-league pick. In a massive league win, he tossed six scoreless innings, surrendering four hits and striking out nine Tartans.
Dylan Nunez, Walnut vs. Diamond Bar
In a game filled with emotion due to the rivalry between the two teams, Nunez had a breakout performance, pitching a four-hitter and striking out seven.
James Quesenberry, Monrovia vs. San Marino
In a game that his team desperately needed to stay in the Rio Hondo League title chase, Quesenberry accounted for himself nicely after a poor performance in game 1 of the series. The junior tossed six shutout innings, allowed one hit, and struck out three.
Zach Strickland, Maranatha vs. Lompoc
The UCLA commit, who many feel is the best pitcher in the area, struck out a mind-numbing 14 hitters in six scoreless innings in the Minuteman victory.
Adam Vitela, California vs. La Serna
Vitela kept the Lancers guessing offensively as he tossed a complete-game six-hitter, with seven strikeouts.
