Bonita baseball advances to final of Norco Tournament; Cal's Alexis Salas pitches a no-hitter against Whittier in softball.
BASEBALL
THE HIGHLIGHTS
- Garrett Patterson tossed a complete game five-hitter and struck out eight as Bonita defeated Corona Santiago 2-0 to advance to the finals of the Norco Tournament. Diego Vasquez and Andrew Sanchez drove in both runs for Bonita. Bryan Bradshaw and Vasquez both connected on two base hits.
- Chris Gonzalez allowed one earned run on seven hits and fanned two hitters in six innings of pitching to pick up the win as Charter Oak defeated Colony, 7-2. Moses Medrano was the offensive star of the game as he connected on two hits (including a double) and drove in four runs.
- Nick Allred tossed a one-hitter and struck out seven to help lead La Serna to a 4-2 win over visiting Oxford Academy in a nonleague game. Allred also went 2 for 3 and drove in the two runs.
- West Covina broke a 2-2 tie by scoring two runs in the top of the third and hung on for a nonleague road win over the Cavaliers. Michael Reyes and Aleksander Gavaghan both had two hits respectively. Aiden Trejo allowed three runs on six hits and struck out two to earn the decision.
- Erick Felix sparkled on the mound for Walnut as he surrendered one run on five hits and struck out eight in a 2-1 win over Alta Loma in a nonleague game.

- Alexis Salas pitched a five-inning no-hitter, walked one batter, and struck out nine as California defeated Whittier, 17-0. Isabella Salas went 3 for 3 (including a home run) and drove in two runs. Hailey Chavolla had four hits and amassed three RBIs.

- South Pasadena rallied from a 5-3 deficit by scoring four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to defeat Almont League leader Schurr, 7-5 in a nonleague affair. Daphne Malaesta delivered the big blow of the inning with a three-run home run off Spartans relief pitcher Estrella Perez. Schurr’s Emma Mendizabal pitched five solid innings, allowing four earned runs on four hits and striking out five.
