BASEBALL
AT THE DAVE MOORE TOURNAMENT
San Marino 13, Cathedral 1: Tomas Bilvado improved his record to 2-0 with a five-inning complete-game effort, allowing five hits and striking out eight. His fastball topped at 91 MPH. Chase Mena hit a three-run home run over the right-center field fence in the first inning, which started the Titans' scoring. JJ Wilson scratched out two hits and drove in three runs. Aldo Cali banged two singles to right field and scored twice.
Monrovia 6, San Fernando 5: Trailing 5-2, the Wildcats scored four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and came away with the win. Josh Griffiths’ single scored Troy Grise with the winning run. Sutton Powers pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in relief and picked up the win.
It will be San Marino vs. Monrovia in the tournament final on Saturday.
IN OTHER ACTION
Muir 4, Pasadena Poly 3: The Mustangs improved their record to 5-0 with a home win over the Panthers. Conrad Hunzinker was the hero for the Mustangs as his single scored the winning run. Hunzinker also struck out 14 in six innings of work and picked up the win.
Rowland 12, The Webb Schools 5: Nathanael Li had a double and a triple, with Ethan Lopez driving in three runs in the Raiders' win. David Garcia and CJ Carrilo each amassed two RBIs.
Alhambra 10, Flintridge Prep 6: Marc Hernandez had a nice day as he went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs and scored three times. Both of his hits were doubles.
South Pasadena 11, Schurr 1: Hanson Chan, a junior, allowed one run on four hits and struck out four in six innings of work to pick up the win. Charlie Vogel and Diego Gurfein drove in two runs.
Sultana 3, Glendora 2: The Sultans scored three runs off Glendora starter Tanner Grable in the third inning, which proved to be the difference. Sophomore Santiago Garza hit an RBI double for the Tartans.
Temple City 4, Marshall 4: Trailing 4-2, the Rams scored in the fifth and sixth innings in a game called after seven innings due to darkness. Adan Castro and Elijah Lain collected 2 RBIs.

SOFTBALL
Sonora 7, Whittier Christian 3: The Raiders scored three runs in the third and sixth innings, which was the difference in a huge nonleague area win. Bayle Hunnicutt, an Eastern Kentucky commit, not only connected on three doubles but also struck out 10 in a complete-game effort. Mia Camacho and Rylee Cull were the only Whittier Christian players to drive in runs.
St. Paul 21, Whittier 5: Sunni Vasquez and Giselle Avila drove in three runs for the Swordsmen in their rout of the host Cardinals.
La Serna 13, Long Beach Poly 9: Elissa Guerrero connected on two doubles, and Lexi Avila hit a triple as the Lancers defeated the visiting Jackrabbits. Aubrie Baruch and Mikaela Galicia each drove in two runs.
South Hills 7, Elsinore 1: Senior Alyssa Tofolla turned in a sharp performance in the circle for the Huskies as she allowed one run on five hits and struck out five in a complete-game effort. Mikayla Sta Ana connected on a double that drove in two runs. South Hills improved their record to 4-2.
Garden Grove Pacifica 5, La Habra 2: The Mariners scored three runs in the bottom of the 4th inning that proved too much for the Highlanders to handle. Crystal Alatorre went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs.
California 9, Kennedy 2: The Condors collected five doubles to defeat the Fighting Irish. Amaya Vasquez went 3 for 4. Alexis Salas struck out 13 in a complete-game effort.
Charter Oak 4, Downey 3: The Chargers scored two runs in the second and third innings and held on for the road nonleague win. Leila Diebert went 3 for 3 and drove in two runs.
Glendora 5, Duarte 3: With the game tied at 3, the Tartans scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, which proved to be the difference in a home win. Maddy Stone went 2 for 3, and Morgan Gonzalez was 3 for 3 with two doubles.
Los Altos 6, Muir 2: Brianah Alejandre, a UCLA commit, had two hits and drove in three runs for the Conquerors in a road win.
Bonita 17, San Dimas 0: Serenity Reyes held the Saints to three hits in four innings to pick up the win. Skyy Hicks had two hits and three RBIs.
El Monte 10, Bell Gardens 7: Analeah Ledesma, a freshman, went 3 for 4 with Leilani Diaz and Victoria Valdez each driving in three runs in a Lions home win.
South El Monte 5, Sierra Vista 1: Faith Magana, a freshman, collected two hits and drove in two runs for the Eagles. Loreli Castrejon allowed one earned run on two hits and struck out four in a complete-game performance. She also went 3 for 4.
Temple City 16, San Gabriel 4: Zoe Grimaldi went 2 for 4 with 3 RBIs to lead the Rams’ offensive attack. Paloma Moon struck out six in a complete-game effort and picked up the decision.
