Damien 65, Clovis North 57: Mike LeDuc finally won his state championship as the Spartans defeated Clovis North at Golden 1 Arena in Sacramento. Here is Los Angeles Times’ Eric Sondheimer story from the game.

Oakland Tech 39, La Salle 33: The Lancers were in control for in the first half but came up just short in losing the Div. III girls basketball final. Here is Orange County Register Dan Albano’s story from the game.
BASEBALLÂ
Arcadia 4, Muir 2: The Apaches swept the series from the Mustangs as they scored two runs in the first inning and runs in the fifth and sixth to pick up a Pacific League win over the Mustangs. Devon Eskridge went 2 for 3 and Daniel Chavez connected on a home run. Chavez also pitched five innings, allowed two runs on six hits, and struck out three to pick up the win.
St. Paul 5, Bishop Amat 2:Â In the game of the day in the area, the Swordsmen broke open a 2-2 tie by scoring two runs in the fifth inning and tacked on an insurance run in the sixth inning to earn a Del Rey League win over the visiting Lancers. Ethan Moran gave up two hits in a complete-game effort to earn the win. Jimmy Salas had two hits. Jonathan Rodriguez went 2 for 3 for Bishop Amat.
Charter Oak 3, Rancho Cucamonga 0:Â Anthony Vasquez tossed a gem for the Chargers as he allowed three hits and struck out eight in the Chargers non-league win over the host Cougars. Diego Ortiz was brought in to secure the final out. Ortiz also had two hits with Vasquez helping his cause with two hits and an RBI.
Northview 3, Roosevelt 2:Â Northview scored all its runs in the third inning and narrowly prevailed over the Mustangs. Moses Medrano connected on a two-run home run. Andrew Granados allowed two runs on five hits and fanned four hitters to pick up the win.
Cerritos 11, Los Altos 5:Â The Conquerors lead 5-2 early in this non-league game, but Cerritos scored four runs in the sixth inning and three more in the seventh to prevail. Sebastian Ancheta went 2 for 4 and drove in two runs.
Diamond Bar 6, Murrieta Valley 4:Â The Brahmas scored three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning and withstood a late rally by the Murrieta Valley for a non-league win. Ryan Lewis drove in two runs. Max Buchanan allowed four hits and struck out four to earn the decision.
La Serna 9, Whittier 5:  The Lancers scored three runs in the fifth inning and three more in the seventh to earn a Del Rio League win over the host Cardinals. Jake Long hit a home run and drove in three runs. Marcos Armenta had two RBIs. Whittier’s Jake Najera connected on a solo home run and Josiah Vela had 2 RBIs.
Monrovia 5, San Marino 1: The Wildcats scored two runs in the first inning and two more in the fifth to prevail over the visiting Titans. Monrovia’s Noah Rodriguez had two doubles and drove in two runs. Andrew Primucci, a senior, struck out three hitters in 3 1/3 innings of work and picked up the win.
Temple City 11, South Pasadena 4:Â Jaykob Duhamel turned in a solid performance as allowed five hits and struck out six in the Rams win over the Tigers.
Sonora 4, Sunny Hills 0: The Raiders picked up their second win of the season, and the week, as the pitching tandem of Landon Martin and Joseph Pacheco held the Lancers to four hits. Kirk Felikian, Izaak Fernandez and Sebastian Zamorano had multiple hits for Sonora.
La Habra 8, Buena Park 0: The Highlanders bounced back from their loss to rival Sonora earlier in the week with a shut out of the Coyotes. Julian Martinez tossed a one-hitter and struck out three. Peyton Lee drove in two runs.
Marshall 5, Village Christian 4:Â The Eagles tallied four runs in the second inning and made the most of it in defeating the visiting Crusaders in a non-league game. Travis Delgado went 2 fo4 3 and scored a run for Marshall.
Montebello 19, Keppel 1: The Oilers scored 11 runs in the first inning and overwhelmed the host Aztecs in an Almont League game. Jose DeLuna went 4 for 5 and drove in six runs.

SOFTBALLÂ
Whittier Christian 3, Canyon 0:Â Â The Heralds advanced to the semifinals of the Dave Tops Tournament of Champions with another stellar effort from University of Utah signee Brooklyn Carreon. In a future Pac-12 matchup against Arizona State signee Kylie McGee, Carreon tossed a complete-game two-hitter and struck out 11. Carreon also helped her cause by driving in two runs. Shelby Robinson went 2 for 3. The Heralds will take on Villa Park in the semifinals on Saturday morning with the pitching matchups being Sydney Somerndyke (Arizona Commit) vs. Brooklyn Carreon. Earlier in the day, Whittier Christian shut out Hamilton HS of Arizona, 5-0.

Glendora 2, St. Lucy’s 1: In one of the more exciting games of the day, the Tartans scored two runs off in the bottom of the fifth inning and pulled out an exciting win. Bridgette Nemeth single to left scored Haley Ganino with the eventual winning run. Ganino also pitched three innings in relief, allowing two hits and striking out six to pick up the win. Ashley Hibbard struck out 11.
Los Altos 3, Don Lugo 0: Samantha Bohorquez was a tough customer in the circle as she tossed a complete-game four-hitter in the Conquerors. Gisella Mejia hit a home run and drove in two runs.
Walnut 4, Etiwanda 3: In one of the bigger upsets of the day, Walnut’s Daniella Leon brought in two runs on a sacrifice fly to right field in a Mustangs non-league win.
San Marino 4, Monrovia 1:Â The Titans scored all four of their runs in the fourth inning and defeated the host Rams in a Rio Hondo League affair. Sophia Bilvado was the offensive star of the day for the Titans as she went 2 for 3 and drove in two runs. Claire Streeter allowed one unearned run on three hits and struck out 13 in earning the win.
Northview 5, Schurr 0:Â Northview pitcher Brittaney Rivas was outstanding in the circle as threw a complete-game four-hitter and struck out ten in the Vikings non-league win over the visiting Spartans. Junior Sarah Diaz went 2 for 3 and drove in a run.
