Bonita's Brooklyn Shroyer and Rosemead's Alicia Ochoa each toss perfect games; South Hills, La Canada, Temple City, San Marino, Flintridge Sacred Heart and Duarte post wins.
Division 1
Gahr 7, La Serna 5: In a game that featured many ebbs and flows, Gahr scored two runs in the top of the eighth inning to defeat the host Lancers. It was Amanda Tammu that delivered the big hit as her double in the top of the eighth inning scored the two runs that proved to be the difference. Amanda Ramirez contributed a double and junior Sara Perez banged out a triple. Sabria Ritto went 2 for 2 and Fabiola Serna connected on two hits.
Eastvale Roosevelt 3, La Mirada 0: In a game that was much closer than what more experts expected, the Matadores held the Mustangs to one run through six innings before giving up two runs in the seventh inning in a home second-round defeat.
Division 2
South Hills 6, Segerstrom 3: Leah Morales went 4 for 4 with Joie Economides and Madilyn Hernandez driving in two runs as the Huskies advanced to the quarterfinals with a home win over Segerstrom. The Huskies got the job done by scoring four runs in the first inning. Maddie Del Real allowed one earned run on four hits and struck out three in 4 1/3 innings of work. Audrey Gallegos fanned five in 2 2/3 innings of relief work. South Hills will host Millikan on Thursday.
Torrance 2, Glendora 1: Hannah Ramirez’s sacrifice fly in the right field scored Emily Schepp with the eventual winning run in the top of the sixth inning as Torrance narrowly prevailed in a road win over the Tartans. Ashley Hibbard drove in Amelie Arroyo with Glendora’s only run in the third inning. Bridget Nemeth allowed two runs on nine hits and fanned nine in a complete-game effort in the season finale.
Yucaipa 9, Charter Oak 1: The Thunderbirds tallied three runs in the fifth inning and five more in the seventh as they overwhelmed the host Chargers. Aaliyah Freeman accounted for Charter Oak’s only run in the bottom of the seventh inning.
Don Lugo 2, Arcadia 1, eight innings: In one of the more exciting games of the day, Allison Gonzalez’s double in the eighth inning off Arcadia relief pitcher Isabella Cordiero scored Jade Criel with the eventual winning run as the Conquistadors defeated the host Apaches. Don Lugo is coached by area coaching legend Greg Gano. Virginia Torres drove in Arcadia’s one run.
Millikan 6, La Habra 5: In another thrilling ending, Millikan’s Mikaela Pacheco drove in the winning run for the Rams off La Habra star pitcher Marissa Rodriguez as they defeated the visiting Highlanders. Rodriguez had two hits and drove in four runs.
Division 3
Bonita 5, Kennedy 0: Looking for a pitcher that tossed a perfect game? Here is the first of them as Brooklyn Shroyer tossed a perfect game in the Bearcats’ win over Kennedy. The junior threw 81 pitches (with 64 of them strikes) and struck out 12 hitters. Bryce Schroyer hit a two-run home run and sophomore Sofia Ortiz also drove in two runs. The top-seeded Bearcats will host Sunny Hills on Thursday.
Division 4
La Canada 3, Oak Hills 2: Amy Lyman was the hero of the day for Spartan fans as her single in the top of the seventh inning scored Elle Leckrone with the winning run in a thrilling road win. Leckrone was also dominant in the circle as she allowed one earned run on three hits and struck out seven in a complete-game effort. La Canada will host Moorpark on Thursday.

Temple City 9, Mayfair 0: It was another dominating performance for sophomore sensation Kassandra Gewecke as she tossed a four-hitter and struck out 11 in the Rams' home win over the Monsoons. Mikala Sanchez had a sensational day at the plate with two home runs and three RBIs. Temple City will host Orange Vista on Thursday in a quarterfinal.
Orange Vista 3, Schurr 2: The Coyotes rallied from a 2-0 deficit by scoring three runs in the top of the sixth inning and defeated the Spartans at Montebello High School. Emma Mendizabal allowed one earned run on four hits and struck out eight in a complete-game performance. Grace Franklin and Emily Mota each drove in runs for Schur.

San Marino 6, Santa Paula 0: Here was another pitcher that turned in an outstanding performance as Claire Streeter, one of the area’s top hurlers, allowed two hits and struck out 11 in a complete-game performance in a Titans home win. Sophia Bilvado drove in two runs. San Marino will have a road game against Fountain Valley on Thursday.

Flintridge Sacred Heart 6, Walnut 2: The Tologs broke open a close affair by scoring four runs in the top of the seventh inning which proved to be the difference in a road win over the Mustangs. Victoria Ramirez had a huge day as she hit a home run and drove in three runs. Maddie Napierala went 3 for 4. Ramirez allowed pitched a complete game, allowing two runs on eight hits and struck out eight. Walnut’s Jocelyn Doan, Natalie Basturto, and Teri Williams each had two hits.
Fountain Valley 14, Rio Hondo Prep 8: Fountain Valley jumped out to an 8-1 lead and withstood a late comeback from the Kares in securing a road playoff win. Raegan Johnson (5 RBIs) and Grace Pollock each had home runs with Pollock also connecting on two doubles.

Rosemead 3, Lennox Academy 0: Rosemead High School softball player Alicia Ochoa pitched a perfect game and struck out 12 batters as Rosemead defeated Lennox Academy in the second-round game at Rosemead. Rozlynn Crespo drove in two of the three runs with key hits on fielder's choices, Zoey Larson batted 3-3 with 3 singles, and Jackie Guerrero batted 2-2 with a double and run batted in and was hit by a pitch.
Duarte 4, Rim of the World 3: Alyssa Garcia struck out 12 hitters and allowed three hits as the Falcons earned a second-round playoff win. Kiley Peinado was the hero of the day as her single in the seventh inning drove in the winning run. Zyanne Diaz, Melina Renskers, and Carly Knoles each banged out two hits.
