COMMENTS FROM COACH ORTEGA: “Our team is bringing back a very experienced defense. Most of our girls have been starting since their freshman and sophomore year. They have an understanding of the game and have only grown the past three years. Clarisa Padilla and Alexandra Melchor both return for defense they will both play a role in leading our defense to success this year. We lose some important pieces on the offensive side we lose the co-offensive player of the league (Sophia Marquez) 1st Team All League RB (Rebecca Franco) and our experienced QB (Diana Ruiz). Our offense will have some experience with our RB (Abigail Maldonado), WR (Allison Ruiz) and WR (Patricia Sul) all returning. We will need to fill some missing pieces on the offensive side, but we are definitely excited about what we saw at our tryouts. Our league will be a little different this year with now adding Mark Keppel and removing the El Monte Schools that were in our league. Excited to see what all the teams have to offer in our league I know they have been working hard all year round. We hope to compete for a league title and make run in the playoffs again this year.”
