COMMENTS FROM COACH MARTINEZ: “Lost 25 seniors from a 10-3 league champion and semi-final appearance. Although there are only four returners, many players have the opportunity to gain valuable playing time. Depth is our main concern and everyone's best shot in league.”
2025 Schedule
Week 0: vs. Fullerton
Since 2004, Fullerton has maintained a five-game winning streak in the series, which resumed after a 12-year break. Anaheim, on the other hand, holds a 26-24 record in home games during the same period.
Week 1: vs. Katella
The series continues with Anaheim on an 8-game losing streak against Katella. The Colonists last defeated Katella in 2011, with a score of 20-18.
Week 2: at Rancho Alamitos
It’s been a rough series for the Colonists, losing 11 of their last 12 games against RA. Last year, Anaheim suffered a tough 42-14 defeat.
Week 3: vs. Ocean View
This game marks the second half of a home-and-home series, with Anaheim securing a 17-7 victory in last year’s matchup.
Week 4: BYE
Week 5: at Magnolia
The Colonists are on a four-game winning streak, including a 51-22 victory LY, and hold a 13-7 record against Magnolia since 2004.
Week 6: at Loara
Anaheim has claimed victory in three of the last four matchups, including a dominant 41-21 win last year.
Week 7: at Costa Mesa
This was the first meeting between the two teams since records began in 2004. Anaheim secured the victory with a commanding 28-6 win.
Week 8: at Santiago/Garden Grove
The Colonists ended their two-game losing streak in style, dominating Santiago with an impressive 42-6 victory.
Week 9: vs. Bolsa Grande
Due to competitive equity, this marked the first matchup between the two teams since 2004, with the Colonists securing a 35-18 victory.
Week 10: vs. La Quinta/Westminster
Anaheim is on a three-game winning streak in the series against LQ, highlighted by last year's thrilling 34-28 victory.
CRYSTAL BALL: Coach Martinez and his team had an impressive 2024 season, reaching the CIF Southern Section Division 13 semifinals before falling to Gahr, 28-12. Looking ahead to 2025, the team faces significant challenges in returning to the playoffs and making a deep run. At quarterback, Jacob Campos, a junior, is expected to take over as QB1, though he saw limited action last year with just 213 passing yards. Fans of the Colonists will need to be patient. One exciting player to watch in the nonleague season is 1T AL Aviles, who stands at 6-2, 180, and is likely to see plenty of targets. Nolasco will lead a young secondary, while Lopez will anchor a developing defensive line group. As expected, our AI models show inconsistency for this team. Several models predict a ceiling of 8-2 or 6-4, which we haven't seen in some time. One model projects the team at 4-6, another at 6-4, and several at 5-5. With uncertainty at the quarterback position and a relatively easy nonleague schedule, six wins seems like a reasonable expectation for Anaheim this year.
Projected Record: 6-4.

CRYSTAL BALL: Let’s be transparent here—my nephew Dean Northam is on this team, and we’re hoping he makes an impact this season. That said, we might view this team with a bit of bias (hope you understand). The big question is the starting QB position, with transfer Stokley in the mix, though we’ll leave that decision to the coaching staff. The passing game needs improvement, and while the Seahawks love their ground-and-pound style, the youth at RB raises questions. Hernandez should be a go-to target at WR, and Armenta will lead a young OL unit (keep an eye on Norman, 6-5, 265, works well in the Sigma). Defensively, like most teams we’ve analyzed, the unit will be built from the outside in, starting with the secondary and moving to the defensive line. Overall, this is a tough team to project. I’ll be honest, our AI models had us shaking our heads. Some have this squad at 5-5, others at 4-6, and a few at 6-4. Most have a consensus ceiling of 7-3, with one at 8-2, with a worst-case scenario of 4-6. If that is the case, then fans at OV should be excited and see some progress in 2025.
Projected Record: 6-4
