Bonita boys basketball posts big win. West Covina girls upset Walnut, FSHA wins historic Girls Water Polo match.

BOYS BASKETBALL

Los Altos 84, Roosevelt 60: The Conquerors improved its record to 4-1 on the season with a double-digit win. Junior forward Jazz Gardner has a double-double with 32 points and 12 rebounds. John Corina added 21 points and Aaron Hernandez added 13 rebounds.
Maranatha 41, Muir 27: In the final game of the first round of the Rose City Classic, the Minutemen played tight defense and advanced the quarterfinals with a big win over the Mustangs. Muir’s Marquis Moore tallied seven points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Bonita 61, South El Monte 41: The Bearcats broke open a close affair in the third quarter, outscoring the Eagles 15-7 in the third period, and cruised to an easy win in the Blue Pride Classic at El Rancho High School. Matthew Rodriguez was the leading scorer for South El Monte with 18 points and Uriel Ramirez added 13.
Bosco Tech 67, Cornerstone Christian 26: The Tigers (5-0) advanced to the semifinals of the Calvary Baptist Tournament with an impressive win. Once again, Jaden Erami led the way for Bosco Tech with 24 points.
La Serna 67, La Habra 57: In a battle of Whittier-area coverage-based teams, the Lancers improved their record to 5-2 with a double-digit win over the host Highlanders. Jaedon Anderson scored a team-high 19 points and Eric Castillo added 11.
Redondo Union 52, La Mirada 46: The Matadors lost their third straight game, suffering a tough six-point loss to Redondo Union. Senior forward Isiah Kalaj led the way for La Mirada with 17 points and guard Sean Cervantes added 10 points. La Mirada is back in action on Wednesday at Buena Park HS against Trinity League power Orange Lutheran at 5:30.

Girls Basketball
Glendora 73, Heritage Christian 26: The Tartans rebounds from a tough Monday loss to Hillcrest with a convincing win over the Warriors. Senior Kennedy Herrmann led the way with a team-high 20 points and Hailey Schafer added 14 points with sophomore Rylie Anderson adding 13.
Arcadia 61, Calvary Chapel 9: The Apaches had 13 different players score in an easy win at the Calvary Chapel Tournament. Mel Manell, a junior, spearheaded the attack with 14 points and Lana Troung added 11 points.
La Salle 46, El Segundo 27: The Lancers improved their record to 4-0 with a home nonleague win over the Eagles. Kaden Cortes scored 14 points and Audrey Chen added 13.
West Covina 55, Walnut 45: In one of the big upsets of the night, the visiting Bulldogs pulled way in the final stages of the fourth quarter to defeat the visiting Mustangs. Walnut rallied to tie the game at 43 with less than four minutes left in the fourth quarter. Jollen Olia led the way for the Mustangs with 17 points and Jasmyn Stampley added 10 points.
La Habra 62, Charter Oak 29: Ten different players scored for the visiting Highlanders as they throttled the Chargers in a non-league affair. Sophomore Megan Hamabe led the scoring attack with 11 points and Anika Arias added 10. Senior Mallory Sidoti grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
El Rancho 66, Mesrobian 25: The Dons rebounded from a loss to Arcadia on Monday with a double-digit win over the Bulldogs. Senior Patricia Gaitan had a double-double in the victory, scoring a season-high 28 points and grabbed 13 rebounds. Danielle Aguirre and Brianna Charles each tallied 10 points.
Rowland 69, Norco 41: Freshman Czarina Powell had a big night for the Raiders as she scored 25 points in the road win. Senior Amira Austin contributed 13 points and six steals.
San Bernardino 60, Rosemead 42: Vivian Duong scored 25 points, but was not enough as the Panthers suffered a tough loss in pool-play action of the Rosemead Varsity Tournament.

Bishop Amat 2, St. Monica 0: Enzo Prato and Isaac Ochoa each scored goals for the Lancers in a road win. The Lancers are back in action on Wednesday with a home game against Walnut at 3:30.

Pasadena Poly 2, Arcadia 1: Arcadia started fast as Wesley Chan scored the first goal of the game, but the Panthers scored two unanswered goals to pull off the road win.

Diamond Bar 1, Canyon 1: Isabella Hurtado scored the only goal for the Brahmas in the final minute of the game to earn the draw.
California 7, Bell Gardens 0: Clarissa Pelayo, Jessica Vicente, and Diana Perez each scored two goals as the Condors easily dispatched the Lancers in a nonleague game.
La Puente 5, Gladstone 2: Alaissa Morales scored three goals and Ceci Ochoa added 2 as the Warriors improved their record to 3-0 win a win over the Gladiators.
Los Altos 3, Nogales 0: Sophomore Brooke Juncaj and Juniors Leslie Lopez and Mia Melendez each scored a goal for the Conquerors in a home nonleague win over the Nobles.

GIRLS WATER POLO
Glendora 20, St. Lucy’s 13: Hailey Andress, who is considered one of the elite players in the area, led the offensive attack for the visiting Tartans with 9 goals and four assists. Goalie Katie Duckworth stopped 13 shots.
West Covina 12, Montclair 5: The visiting Bulldogs opened an 8-2 lead and had no trouble dispatching the Cavs in a nonleague game. Alana Solorzano scored a game-high seven goals.
La Salle 17, Flintridge Prep 7: The visiting Lancers broke this nonleague game wide open by scoring six goals in the second quarter and cruised to a nice win. Senior Savannah Robles had a big game with nine goals.
Flintridge Sacred Heart 23, Pasadena Poly 11: It was a big day for the Tologs in the pool as they defeated the Panthers for the first time in school history. Marisol Cowles led the way for FSHA with seven goals.
